(I’m using a VERY slow phone modem and can’t post any pics from China—will do so when we get back to Paris)
CARING FOR CUSTOMERS
In many places in Paris we see ads for Emirates Airlines, especially in sports shops, as Emirates sponsor many sporting events, notably the World Cup Rugby on in France now. “Fly Emirates” they say.
Well, we did fly Emirates to China and the experience did live up to the advertising hype. Nowadays, flying can be a pain (especially on American carriers) so this was a pleasant surprise and a reminder of how air travel used to be (and can still be, obviously)—friendly, efficient service, on the ground and in the air; the feeling that the customer is important; a printed menu of the meals; very good food, served on a large tray in nice dishes and with REAL cutlery; free beer and wine (a service that no-one was abusing—take note US carriers!). What a pleasure. The experience reminded Rod and I of air travel in the 70s when it was a grand adventure, and people got dressed up for it.
We are very satisfied customers and will seriously consider Emirates again. They succeeded with us and obviously have with thousands of others, as evidenced by the swift growth and success of the airline.
